SAMEEN AGHA [b. 1992, Pakistan] lives and works in Lahore. Working across sculpture, painting and installation, her practice explores the emotional landscape of the home and its social and physical attributes as they intersect with gender and self-identity. Guided by her personal experience and memory, her work confronts the complexities of loss, belonging, and remembrance. She employs material that interplay between strength and fragility and, permanence and impermanence, to interrogate the meaning and experience of home. She is the recipient of the 2024 Sovereign Asian Art Prize. Agha received a BFA from the National College of Arts, Lahore in 2016.
